About Bernard Morauw

Bernard Morauw has been riding since he was a child growing up in Belgium, then later in France. He later was blessed to ride with top eventing riders and learn from some of the best coaches. Bernard competed in Eventing, Dressage and Jumper classes. He trained with François Lucas, former France Champion in Eventing, International and Olympic Judge. As he developed is skills, he continued to study how the french riding school could better educate us about developing competitive horses for today’s needs. When Bernard and his family moved to the USA, they came over with Ualla du Breuil, their Selle Français mare and in 1996 they were midwest Preliminary champions. He has developed a lot of young horses to upper levels.

Bernard is a USEA ECP Instructor Level III. He is also supporting many Pony Club activities and clinics in the Midwest. Bernard has been engaged with the USEA Instructor Certification Program since early stages of the program and has supported his expansion through workshops and assessment sessions at Versailles Equestrian.

He has worked with many experienced riders in Europe and the USA, including Francois Lucas, Jean-Luc Goerens, Maxime Livio, Mark Phillips, Jim Graham, David and Karen O’Connor.

Bernard and his wife Catherine own and operate Versailles Equestrian, a beautiful facility located in Reddick, FL and teach at Compass Equestrian in Virgil, IL in the summer. They offer clinic and training for Eventing, Dressage and Jumper riders. They travel for clinics and Pony Club activities.
